DIDRC is a discrete signal control circuit developed to make digital sound sources such as CDs and music streaming services sound as natural as analog records.

This technology has been further refined and is used in the P-80’s the analog filter of the DAC and phono amplifier circuits.

A preamplifier receives the signal input from your device (music source), and applies tone controls to that signal. You have more control over your audio playback in terms of bass, treble, volume, and more. When Fidelity IQ (Auto Loudness function) is turned on, the system automatically provides optimal audio playback according to any volume in conjunction with the master volume (This function operates independently of Tone Control and can be used in conjunction with Tone Control / Parameters are generated for the viewing environment using the setup microphone during initial setup). This Fidelity IQ goes beyond correcting loudness characteristics. Onkyo’s sound quality engineers adjust the frequency response to provide the most emotional sound possible, regardless of the music genre.
